What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The Bible is our roadmap!  At Grace Church Plano, our core beliefs are built on its powerful truths.  These principles are the fuel behind our teaching and ministries, helping us grow closer to God and live out our faith.

The Bible

At Grace Church Plano, we hold the Bible as the inspired Word of God. This means we believe it's God's message to humanity, divinely communicated through human authors.  The Bible is considered infallible, meaning it's free from error in its original manuscripts, and authoritative, serving as the ultimate source of truth for our faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16)

The Trinity

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
(Matthew 28:19, Colossians 2:9)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His vicarious and atoning death; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His bodily, future return to this earth to rule in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
(Luke 1:26, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Forgiveness

We believe that all people have sinned and fall short of God's perfect standard (Romans 3:23). The good news is that forgiveness and a restored relationship with God are available. We believe the only way to be cleansed from this sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
(Hebrews 9:2)

The New Birth

At Grace Church Plano, we believe that personal salvation is a transformative experience that goes beyond simply acknowledging our need for forgiveness.  We hold to the concept of regeneration by the Holy Spirit.  This means that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, works within us to create a new spiritual birth
(John 3:7)

Health and Healing

We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body, and through faith-filled prayer,  God can choose to extend His healing power in response to our needs.  It's important to understand that healing doesn't always happen the way we expect, but we trust in God's perfect will and timing.
(Matthew 8:7)

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4) and that the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit (I Corinthians 12: 4-11), is available to believers who ask God for it.

Sanctification

we believe in the ongoing transformation of believers through the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit.  This means the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us after salvation, empowers us to live a life that increasingly reflects God's character.
(Ephesians 4:30, Galatians 5:13)

Eternal Life

We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation, as it is stated in the Bible. (2 Thessalonians 1-9, Romans 6:23)
